THE REVEALING OF THE SONS OF GOD
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God (Romans 8:18-19).

The seeds of glory are inside every Believer because we have the Holy Spirit. We have already been given all that we need to overcome anything this world throws at us to demonstrate how His Kingdom rules over every circumstance.

“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.a 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority ”  (Colossians 2:9-10).

When we struggle to overcome it can be discouraging and could even cause us to doubt our sonship. After all, sons are supposed to be more than conquerors, right?

The sons of God are an unfoldin g revelation. The glory which shall be revealed in us may not be visible to us now, but it is coming. All creation is waiting for it. Our struggles shape us and increase our capacity to display Who God is to the world.

The display of glory in us is somehow connected to our struggle. We should not compare whatever suffering we now face to the glory that will one day be revealed in us. Because this is an unfolding revelation, it’s not a question of glory now or sometime in the future, it’s a matter of degree. How much glory is the Lord able to shine through my life today?

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit”  (2 Corinthians 3:17-18).

The struggles we endure now prepare us for ever-increasing glory. When you struggle, don’t see it as a failure or as weakness. See it for what it is, preparation for glory. The Lord wants to increase our capacity, upgrade our bandwidth and enlarge the place of our tent (Isaiah 54:1-3).

This process creates a yearning in all of creation to see who it is we are becoming as the sons of God. In some ways, we cannot know the end of that journey. But we can know this, the Lord is committed to us in such a way that the fullness of His glory will one day shine through each of us.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal”  (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32)

“… the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”  (Colossians 3:26-27).
